To me this shot is very distracting and really does not have a main subject that sticks out in my eye. I'm sure it was a nice scene to your eye. I think the camera has a way of making things look different from what our eyes see sometimes.

Was it raining when you took this? Looks like it from the ripples in the water. Yes, it's a rather busy shot with no clear 'subject' or focal point that grabs me. But, it does have a nice contrast between the bright green leaves and the dark bushes which is very pretty. Overall, I think it's pretty good.

matt - it was raining

ts - the "main subject" here is the complexity/diversity of texture, color and form of the swampy thicket that you find "distracting". indeed, to my eye, this is a wonder of nature.
