Photographed on one dark rainy Saturday morning while in Quebec. The dim light made the conditions perfect to capture the small cascades as they flowed over the rocks of a small stream just off the road. I loved how the flat light brought out the deep reds of the sumac too. Only problem was that I couldn't get down far enough to move the twigs out of the way and it was rather windy so the maple leaf at the top kind of flapped in the wind. :( Canon D60, EF 70-200mm f4.0L, ISO 100, EV -1.5, f32, 3 sec exposure.

Beautifful saturation and exposure. I personally like dark, rich colors. The dash of red is also nice. Some of the foreground twigs are IMO a bit of a distraction.

I have to agree with Harvey on all counts. This is a very nice, rich image.

Yup, wonderful except for the junk/twigs in the FG.

Agree with the others on the twigs. I'm not always a big fan of shots like this but the great colors here really make this nice!!!

Wow. The colors and comp are gorgeous. I could live without the twigs but I still really like this shot. I especially like the frothy water.

It's a beaufiful scene with a wonderful range of colors. I like the comp, but I must admit to a burning desire to push the foreground growth out of the way.

Lots to look at here. I love the water and the yellow leaf in the top left. Some of the "junk" in the bottom is a little distracting. I do however like the red sumac(?) on the right. I think shooting the sumac leaves against the waterfall would be an interesting comp. Just a suggestion, overall I think it's pretty good.

Nice, rich colors to die for! I can live with the FG twigs as I think there are so many potential uses for a photo and this is a fresh look at a small scene. It's really pretty as are other of your photos that I can remember.

Thanks to everyone for their comments. I really got a smile from the comment "If colors had calories this would be a huge banana split". I tried to move the twigs, but they were way out of reach. I even tried using by tripod (without the camera attached of course) to push them back, but had no luck. Perhaps next time, I will find a stream like this without them.
