These are a very small and very common butterfly:

Conon 10D, 300/4 + 500D, F16, 1/200, natural light

I was lucky to find such a fresh one, these are often worn. I was experimenting with the 500D for small butterflies, but this combination comes up short on DOF for many butterfly poses even at F20. Worked OK here, I thought!

well done, you used the shallow DOF well by placing the wings and head on the focusing plane. The image has a peaceful feel, plus excellent detail.

Excellent Tom.. in addition to what Steve said I like how the leaf appears gray, similar in color to the subject.. Nice work and thanks for contributing to FFM @ NSN

Better than OK. Lovely image making the most of limited DOF.

Excellent job, great shot.

I'm having a nightmare getting my 500D to get me anything decent, you've done really well. Congrats.
