Since I am not a member of the 500 club, this one is heavily cropped. Taken at Central Park. My flash batteries died so the 100-400 was out (Especially at ISO 1600 with the TC)

Love the peeling bark pattern. It gives this little owl such a decent camouflage clothing ...

Thanks all... I need to do a lot of practice with the 100-400. It is certainly capable even if I am not.

Nice capture. That is a very interesting tree and I like the image, but I'm wondering if that pattern is helping him blend in as well as he might need to be safe. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks.. we actually stood there like idiots for 2 hours with our lenses pointed upward.... A friend had found him and the mrs, a few nights before.
