Out of all the butterflies at the local butterfly house this was my very favorite. As far as I could tell this was the only Autumn Leaf Butterfly in the butterfly house and it was only present one of the several days I visited this past summer. I would never have noticed this single butterfly if it had not landed on my shoulder and then flown up to rest upon the large pink flower it's perched upon in this shot.

At 5'5" I was not nearly tall enough to reach the flower to compose a prettier shot. I had to stand on my tiptoes and reach for this one. :) I'm mostly posting this because I think the butterfly is really cool. All comments are welcome. Thanks for looking! :)

Awesome colors and nice texture in the pink! Looks like a low mileage butterfly also since the wings are in great shape.

What a beautiful butterfly, I love the pink flower bg. This is nice and sharp, well executed for being on tiptoes! Did you try rotating this to a horizontal? I think it would work both ways. Great job!

It is a beautiful BF Laura, gorgeous colours and detail right down to its fur! and against that pastel pink flower it results in a lovely image.

Great shot Laura, and the very different color combinations in this shot that you don't normally see very much makes this one very appealing!
Gotta love it!! :)

This is a nicely made image of this butterfly. The detail is held well, hard to believe it's only f2.8. Nice contrast of color between the bf and the flower.

Laura, this is a perfect shot. The butterfly is perfect, the colors work perfectly together, and the sharpness, composition, and lighting are right on. A photo to be proud of.
