Pentax 645NII, 120mm Macro, Fuji Velvia 100F

Same place as the last two. The poor rock on the left was broken by expanding ice. The right rock will meet the same fate if it falls below freezing.

These studies are fascinating. I like the story as well as the composition. My eye is drawn to the pinkish rocks at the top just because the color is different- I like this better with them eliminated- or a b/w version would probably work too since this is essentially monochromatic. I have enjoyed the whole series very much.

These pictures have been excellent Ken, we have our own prime example of this in the UK with The Giants Causeway in Ireland - that is ice fragmented rocks on a massive scale.

Cool rock formation....I really like the pattern that the water made on the large rock. Nice eye.

Very nice shot, Ken. I like the contrast between the small rocks and the large rock, and how the pattern on the large rock makes it look like it's going to break up someday, too.
