Hello NatureScapers..

This is Joey, the red fox who lives at Triple D in MT. Of all the animals, he seemed to give us the greatest challenge as he was shy, hardly stopped for more then a millisecond, and his compound did not have very many places where clean shots could be made. There were high weeds, brush and trees that totally hid Joey towards the back. It was relatively dark under the canopy of the trees on a very overcast day. Towards the front of the enclosure, there was a slight ridge that put him eye level to photographers on their knees. This is the one frame I was able to make with him on this ridge looking straight into the camera at a range providing facial detail without having to crop his body..

I think I really get a charge out of close ups because the instant is frozen, allowing me later to look directly into the eyes and study the facial expressions of the animals we photographed.

Thanks for looking and any comments or suggestions..

Nice one Dennis. I had a really tough time with the fox. I never seemed to be in the right place to get him in the milliseconds he held still. I really like your close-up shots and this one is no exception.

What a handsome little guy. Foxes always remind me of the book The Little Prince. I love the shot and subject. Being able to look into his eyes and see his expression is special.

Red Fox...a funny man who I miss. Oh...the image! I like the perspective and POV on this. I might want to lighten the front legs a bit.

Love the low perspective and the straight-at-you look. The grass is a nice addition. Very intimate & very nice.

Excellent shot Dennis, Fox eyes are not easy to get right and can give a strange reflection but you have got it just right here!!

I think that I have said it before, but I am going to have to find some new words to describe your shots.
But right now, ................... fabulous!!! :)
