Geology Lesson

Ice can do mean things to rocks! Water seeps in and freezes. Then the expanding ice puts over 2000PSI of pressure on this unfortunate rock.

I was exploring below Presque Isle Falls and found all of these rocks that looked like they were shattered. Ice is the reason.

I like this a lot. There is a very nice sense of balance in the composition with the positioning of the large cracks in the opposite corners. The monochrome tones are perfect for this image of line and form. Well seen and taken.
