When you spend so much time with your subject there comes a time that you start playing around...so I added an extra converter to my setup and when I came home I was surprised with the detail I was still able to record. A bigger version of the head can be seen which is +/- at 50% of the original size:

Hi Jasper,

Yep, these games can be very nice.

The image is too tight imo, but considering the game you were playing the detail is superp and sharp. So this is 50%, how does it hold on 100% and 200%?

I hope you didn't have any of the problems you had recently...

Cheers

Peter

Fabiola, there is no way you can get rid of the vegetation once you're working with nest sites like these ones. I guess I have to get used to it as I would like to see a cleaner background myself too, but on the other hand it tells something about the surroundings.

I know Jasper, it happens a lot here too. I was just being extra picky and the bird is so nice it would look so extra special with a blurred bg.
You did waht you had to do :D :D And converters dont help you there either :D Great job!!!

Hi Jasper,

Like all of your recent Grebe posts, this is a fantastic shot! I love the amount of detail here as well as the included habitat. :)

Really nice Jasper. Don't give the bacground reeds a second thought. This is their habitat and is perfect.

I have truly enjoyed your "Grebe collection". Your technique with stacked converters here is excellent. Your images are full of life and all tell a wonderful story. I do hope that they remain safe from the kids who delight in harming innocent creatures. I look forward to each new image......as another chapter in a fascinating life history.
