Canon 1D, 600mm, ISO 400, F5.6, 1/125sec.

This image was taken at Triple D in Montana while on a STL workshop with Charles Glatzer.
We ALL had an awesome time and met new liketime friends :)
This is one of my favorite shots because of the timid young wolf in the BG peaking over the
older males head.

Thank you for taking the time to look and have a Great Day!

An overall very good image. The wolf is placed perfectly in the frame. Possibly a bit of FF or spot metering would have lightened him up just a touch.

Cool shot of a cool animal. A little burning of the right side bright background might make it even better.

Wonderful image.. What makes it special for me is the "ghost" in the back... Great environmental elements..

I was so taken in by his stare that it was a few seconds before I spotted the second one. Very nice shot. Congrats.

I agree with Dave! the foreground Wolf is so captivating the eye is held on him/her and only later does the BG image become apparent.

Lovely shot!

Karen, this is so cool, lasting but a moment you certainly made the most of the situation. Jim B. would be proud of you  That longer lens sure came in handy for some shots.

Best,

Didn't notice the second head until reading your commentary. Nicely seen. While I like this as is, I think it's even stronger cropped to vertical - and the second wolf's head is much more noticeable then - and it fits this week's motif!

Very nice shot, Karen. The exposure and composition are right-on, and the background wolf really adds a unique element. There might be a crop here to a verical panoramic that works well.

Karen, the riveting stare of the front wolf, and the almost identical position of the second are great! I agree that cropping to a vertical pano would put more emphasis on the background wolf.
