Guess I started the whole icon thing. It may be an icon but your photo rises above the rest of this particular one. Even what a "famous" photograper has done with it doesn't come close.

EJ,

I am late seeing this one but glad I discovered it. I have seen several photos of this area but this one is really a cut above the rest. Congrats!

E.J., another beautiful shot! The cloud reflections on the glassy water put this one over the top for me.

Holy cow!!!!! . E.J., I rarely have time to browse this forum as I just don't have enough hours in a day. When I saw the number of posts to this one I had to take a look at it. Man it grabbed me instantly and that doesn't happen often. This is simply stunning and no less so to me just because it has been photographed before. I'd love to see this place in the conditions you have here someday. Great shot.

E.J.,

This is a great shot. The tones in the sky are very complementary to the earth tones of the scene. Great technique.

I understand people have the right to their opinions - but, to me the icon debate is silly. Everything has already been photographed in one form or another. It is artistic vision and creative talent such as this that transends "Icon" images, whatever they are.

This is just totally awesome EJ!

I think icons became icons for a very good reason. They are places of spectacular beauty and may be imbedded in the memories of people who have visited or experienced the scene. They probably have been responsible for the preservation of many pieces of land and establishment of National Parks, Monuments and such. Everyone wants these images in their files (don't they?).

Anyway, If such a scene, familiar or not can be captured this well it certainly is not yet another copy of what has been done. This has the light, the color, the range of exposure, and a KILLER sky that puts this way over the top.

Sorry you didn't make it to the UP EJ but you really made productive use of your time!
