The NatureScapes.net Forums are run off of a single time standard - Greenwich Mean Time, also referred to as Zulu time. If you want to customize the time to your locale, you can in your Profile section. In North America here are the settings - in other parts of the world, settings for you are available as well:

Atlantic Daylight Time = GMT - 3
Eastern Daylight Time = GMT - 4
Central Daylight Time = GMT - 5
Mountain Daylight Time = GMT - 6
Pacific Daylight Time = GMT - 7
Alaskan Daylight Time = GMT - 8

For those in the eastern parts of Canada that are a half hour different from the rest of the world :) There is a GMT - 3.5 option available.

I don't know if you will have to reset this when daylight savings time ends we revert to Stndard Time - but my guess is you will have to increase the number by one.

You're right EJ. Subtract an Hour when Daylight Savings Ends.

so CST will be GMT-6 hrs, and so on...

Oh I know thats the way it works in the real world :) but some bulleting boards get confused - that's what I meant when I said that you MAY have to change it.

I live in AZ and used to live in IN so I know what you are talking about. In the summertime you use the settings for Central Daylight Time in Indiana and for Pacific Daylight Time in Arizona and then switch them in winter. I guess I need to move to Hawaii to complete the hat trick for living in states with no daylight savings time :)

And just to confuse things, a few counties in NW and SW Indiana *do* use daylight time, staying with the rest of the Central time zone all year

Germany is GMT +2 during summertime and +1 during wintertime (summer- and wintertime is how we call these settings over here)

In case someone is interested
