Very interesting, I didn't think a flat bed scanner would have this much DOF - you might be onto something here.

Harvey - I do confess to sneaking a little supplimentary light on the subject from the sides. Of course the scanner top has been removed and a plain white background placed at a 45? angle to the scanner surface.

Excellent. Subject and composition really make this pleasing. YOur creativity in using the scanner is great. I would not do this with my current scanner since the top is plastic not glass. I have to be very careful not to scratch it. The DOF really makes this look wonderful. Keep it up.

I think there's a nice visual quality to this; the trick will be to get a natural look in the petals; the tips are curled in on a couple leaves. I do like the colors and the composition.
