Orchids can be very frustrating to photograph. They frequently bloom in infloresences that are tightly packed, making difficult to cleanly isolate one bloom or a small group. On some, like this, I found it better just to get a close-up of part of one bloom. BTW, there is absolutely no saturation increase in this shot. The colors really were that bright.

D70, 105 Macro Nikkor, ISO 200, 1/125 @ f25, SB-600 with diffuser
