All,

Im curious what you all feel about this crop. The original had the ears chopped at the top, so I decided on a close crop that really focused on the eyes. I was considering sending this (the full sized) to WHCC to try them out with an 11x14 print after reading stuff posted on the photography forum. It works for me. Does it work for you?

For my tastes, I'd crop it a bit tighter. I don't like being able to see part of the ear like that. If you can't show the whole ear, I'd crop them right off! (And since that would make it really tight on the top, I'd probably take a bit off the sides too, to match.

But that's just me.

I presume this is captive?

Apart from the softness in the lower third of the image, this works for me Chris. I would have preferred a shot this close to be sharper but that's just my opinion. 8) :)

I like the ears. To include the entire ear, you'd need some BG. If the BG was similar to that in the lower left, it wouldn't be distracting. As it is now, the colors are nicely uniform. I think its a cool shot with the intense eyes.

WHCC will do up to 5 free 8x10's to ensure your monitor colors match the final output. If you mention the name of someone that refered you to WHCC, that person gets some sort of discount or credit. 8) OBTW, WHCC is in your neck of the woods- South St Paul.

Cool shot.. I like tight in close ups like this. For printing, I might remove the pinpoint flash highlights in both eyes.
