Ok, ok its not that Woodstock...

This is a little river/stream that runs through the town of Woodstock NH.

I cropped this from the right because it was a bit busy and not interesting. I was mainly wanting to capture the contrast in colors amongst the trees. I also desaturated it a bit.

The colour is wonderful! The patch of sky really makes it work.

The water at the bottom is problematic, though. There's enough that it should be part of the image, but it's cut off. It should either be part of the composition or not; it's awkward as it is.

The image seems just a bit soft, too. Some USM would help there.

I agree with everything Paul said and would add that you may want to try this sometime using a slower shutter speed to make the water look silky.

Justin, the colors are wonderful! I don't know if it would would have been possible for you to back up a bit, but I'd like to see the tree tops and a little more water on the bottom.

Gorgeous colors. I also like this with a sliver cropped off the bottom to draw some attention away from the bright water.

Reshoot this in overcast light. Fall color and waterfalls like soft light for the most part. We didn't get enough of that this weekend in MI.
