Nice image of a difficult bird to see, no less photograph. I'm still trying Sandy! 8)
Congrats, Rich.

Sandy

Great image of this scissortail. Unless your back far enough it's easy to cut off the tail.

Well done. A little more contrast would make it better for me. Love the comp and light.

An awesome capture Sandy!
I would prefer the whole tail in focus but I know how hard it is...

You really had your way with this bird. I can't think of a better pose or light for this one. Definitely one of my favorites of yours!!

Great Sandy--very nice that you got it with the tail held out straight.

Sandy

Nice composition. The head looks a little soft to me while the wing bars do not-perhaps main focus was there?

In accord with Mike Wilson's request, saturation has been increased. Others wanted it a bit sharper, so I've done that, too. Hope you like the repost.

Since I like saturated colors, the repost appeals to me. The problem is that the orignal colors look more natural. Since you're the one who saw the bird "in the flesh" so to speak, only you know for sure. The sharpening appears to have helped, particularly around the head and bill. That tail sure seems to present a DOF challenge.

A great shot of a great bird, I always find subjects that are really long to be difficult to photograph, I like the warmer repost image the most. :)

Lovely image. I prefer the top version, it's punchier.
