A nice first post and welcome to NSN, ssim!
An intense moment that was well captured ...

The image is too large viz 800x601 pixels . Please take time to read our Posting Guideline. Keep the image to within 650 pixels on the longest side unless it is a pano presentation which can be up to 800 x 400 pixels.

An interesting action shot. The unusual angle and wing position is very dynamic and the look in the eyes is great. Putting your equipment you used in your post can be useful in helping get more pointers in how to improve your images. What lens were you using and how much of a crop if any? Welcome. :)

Hi ssim, Welcome to NSN!
You've captured some amazing action here, creating a pretty dramatic image.
It's been great having these owls around to shoot, perhaps some day I'll meet you "at the marsh".
Best,
Chris

I like the detail in the owl and the action. The branches in the background in front of the owl are visually disturbing however, and not in a good way. It looks like the owl is going to impale himself.

I suggested that you clone out the right lower branches and leave the two larger branches at the top right alone. They will add some framing and I think you will end up with a more pleasing composition.

Great first post, look forward to seeing more of your work. Thanks.
