Lovely image, Darlene. He's really hunkered down. The bird could be a bit lighter, and I'd prefer more room on top -- it looks like the top edge of the frame has pushed down the pelican's head.

I like the detail and looks almost spotlit around the face and bill. A lower angle may have helped but the crop is hurting this one. Adding some to the top and left will balance this one and place the eye in the upper third of the image.

I think the bird is a little tight, I would have left more water space above the head. Nice bird, though.

Agree with Sandy's comments. I love the ripply water and his fluffy feathers with the water droplets on them.
