Nice colors! The 'bou certainly stands out from the BG. I like the profile, even though it has a bit of a "mug shot" feel.

A bit too much USM- the area on the upper shoulder is over sharpened, which is distracting.

Its very rare that I like a photo with the legs truncated - a body trucation usually works better but in this case I have to make an exception. It's a really well executed photo in nice light with a great fore/background and an awesome subject.

Awesome! I love the colors in the background and don't mind the missing legs at all. Wow what a rack that is!

John,

I love your photo and I'm green with envy. I spent a week in Denali this past Sept. very much hoping to acquire an image like yours. However, the only caribou that we saw were far in the distance. Where is this photo taken? Wonderful image.

Thanks for your comments. Denali ...Bill. I'm not seeing the sharpening artifacts on my 17inchCRT. The spots on the back are actually frost and the caribou had come out through some bushes and ruffled the fur on his back so maybe thats what your seeing as oversharpening. Or maybe sharpening just more apparent on a LCD moniters???
