These iris are one of my favorite flowers to photograph. Every year I make my way up to Door County, WI in Spring. These iris are only in a few places around the Great Lakes and are a threatened species. They thrive in the cool, moist lakeshore air. They are only about the size of a 50 cent piece or about 1 to 1.5 inches.

Really nice grouping Ken. The color and detail are superb! I like the inclusion of the one bud yet to unfurl.

I apologize if I rarely comment on many of the garden, cut or cultivated flowers here. I hardly know a pansy from a petunia. On the other hand I love wildflowers and journeying to the places that they occur. These guys are definitely one of my favorites but they are not that easy to photograph well.

Gorgeous and wonderfully saturated image. The comp is great and there seems to be some sort of 3D effect that I love. Excellent work.

These are just gorgeous Ken, the details in the Iris is like no other on earth, only the Orchid comes close. The petals have a wonderful feel on these as they gently curve sideways and well as down. I love them Ken. Never seen them in the natural world so this is excellent to see. Nothing we can do about habitat shots with backgrounds, so 10 out of 10 Ken. Ahhh can ya tell I like them a little bit :D

All the best Ken, gorgeous colours, patterns and shot M8t.

Danny.

Beautiful vivid colors and excellent flowers. The wild Iris cristata I know from around here looks similar, but is a little bigger.
