Neat image Kyle !!!! I would have used my 600 with stacked extenders for that image :shock:

Snakes are sort of difficult because they keep changing the shape :roll: My only wish is for the empty white circle to be filled by more snake !!!! 8)

This photo was for reference material for a painting that I did for Reptiles magazine. I photographed the snake and then painted from the photo. It had to fit a 12x16 inch format for the layout of the cover and the white background was needed for the lettering to show around the image. The things that have to be considered for a cover. :cry: :roll: :wink: My idea was to have the snake flow visually. The actual painting did not have but a few scales actually painted using only a few scales to "suggest" the scales and let the viewer fill in the details assuming the details were there.

I really like the composition and positioning of the snake. Beautiful patterns. I'm not crazy about a white BG normally, but I guess it can be open space or anything you desire as an artist. Great work on this!
