This Bighorn was captured on the needles highway a couple of months ago with with Chas and STL in Custer State Park. Outstanding time with loads of animals to photography.

Jack, this is a nice exposure in what I assume were cloudy conditions. The colors are a little muted, you might see how it looks with a bit more saturation. I do find the branch cutting across his rear ankles to be distracting. IMHO, I think that for a rear quarter view such as this to be appealing to the viewer, the eyes have to be drawn toward the head.

The framing on this is perfect for a cover shot. Just the right amount of room for inserting a title across the top and text along the side. My personal taste would be for a touch more saturation to warm up the colors, but a very nice shot as is. I agree with Bob about the stick being slightly distracting, but I don't see anything you could have done differently to minimize it. Well done.

I agree with the feeling that this needs a touch more saturation to the colours to warm it a little and I think the stick across the back of his legs wouldn't be so distracting if there were a tad more room at the bottom for his virtual feet. I do like the head in profile and the inclusion of the habitat. 8) 8) :)

Sweet shot Jack. I like the head turn here. CLose enough up for nice detail, yet enough environmental elements.. Thanks for sharing.

My only nit is the stick. I really like the pose.

A nice looking ram and I also like the pose. Agree with the suggestion to give it a touch more warmth / saturation.
