Great Crested Grebe

The splash from a grebe after emerging from a dive.
Taken late in the day just as the light was fading from the golden hour.

D7200 with the 150 600mm lens @ 600. F8 at 1/500sec, ISO720.HH

I now am learning to use the Z8 and the 180-600mm lens.

Thanks for the comments everyone. Just as I posted this we got an alarm that a bushfire was heading straight for our farm so I had to go an enact our emergency plan. Luckily all the firefighters and my husband too managed to stop it about a mile from our farm. The fire was started by Easter campers leaving a fire going. We are at the end of summer hear and it been long and dry and hot.

Off to look at and comment on other images now.
