Venturing into a nature trail for the first time, I almost immediately stumbled upon this butterfly. It was quite still though it was not asleep yet.
The butterfly guide gave this id stating a standout feature is the orange apical portion of the antenna club. So true. This butterfly was first documented way back in 1941.(Corbet) 90D, 180Canon, 1/200, f13, Auto Focus, flash. The male version of this butterfly is more colourful and stylish (in my opinion) but hope this female is worth a view. Comments welcomed. IMG_5955-#2-1280pix by Darren, on Flickr |
