If birds don't fly too erratically, the 2x converter works pretty well. Photographed on a day with high clouds. Please click on image for a larger view.

i'am not a big fan of any tele-converter's if possible but here it did a perfect one for you, superb image AXEL.

One of my favourite in-flight images of yours, Axel.( Wonderful sharp detail captured here- the Canon 600mm f4 ( RF or EF version), is certainly an amazing lens, as you know. Certainly works very well with the teleconverter).
