Dusk in the Okavango Delta and a young male Leopard sitting proud atop a termite mound gives his best Cheetah impersonation!
He was out spotting for Reedbuck and was yet to learn the (not so) subtle art of keeping one's head down when scouting for dinner. :D

A special capture Marc. Lovely framing with the large view showing it off to perfection.

This brings back wonderful memories of our time in the Okavango Delta spent with two researchers studying the lions and other wildlife.  We were based in NG 29 and NG30 Concessions and during our whole stay of several weeks, we never saw a single tourist, or other vehicle, just the wonderful and unspoilt wildlife, researchers and camp staff, a total of six people.  It was absolute bliss.  A most moving and amazing experience.  I remember how the leopards loved sitting on the termite mounds at night because they retained the heat of the day - like a warm hot water bottle in the chill of night while they surveyed their surrounding land.  :)

A beautiful image Marc!

An amazing shot! Love where the moon is! That must be some mound. Wonderful sky and large tree for framing.

Thank you Cynthia,

That "moon" is actually a sunset,
during the dry season there are numerous fires and the sun gets tempered and turns to a soft orange/pink as it sets in the lower sky.

Here's a classic example of where the setting sun looks to be a pink moon!
