I think someone asked me what has St Andrew got to do with this spider....apparently the silky bands called stabilimentum (the full form) forms a cross that alludes to the cruixifcation of the Saint Andrew.
The spider is always in this Zen-like pose, with pairing of legs. Shooting this little fella also required some Zen patience, battling against wind, the low level of ambient light, darkish or unsmooth background, lack of dof and/or sharpness for the spider's body, etc. Technically challenging. In the end, not everything is in perfect focus, but I am fairly satisfied to get this shot. Aperture-Priority AE,1/10 sec,,f8.0,EV -2/3,ISO 800, 90D Lens EF180mm f/3.5L Macro USM,Flash Off,Manual focusing, tripod-supported, image cropped. Hope its a nice view and comments welcomed.
