While slipping and sliding at a difficult macro site, managed to take some closeups of this common Damselfly species known as the Common Bluetail, Ischnura senagalensis. This is the male.
If the terrain were more conducive (for lack of a better word), I'd probably have used a tripod. Such was not the case here. So I used Flash Photography. 90D, 180Canon macro, 1/200, f16, iso500, ETTL -2/3, handholding approach, cropped. Might try other methods in future to zoom in on these fascinating insects.
