Great effect of the sun rays complementing the beautiful landscape.

good image, although I find the sunstar a bit overpowering to the scene.
Also there appears to be quite a lot of recovery work done to the highlight areas
For shots like this, timing can make a big difference...a few moments sooner or later could have hidden the sun just a tad more

Hi to all thanks for visiting
Yes David this is a great place to visit if in Banff are sunset
and sunrise always great drama and colors.
So for this photo I wanted to capture the sun star I do have other photos without it
Hi John
This is a single shot its not a exposure blending to capture all the range of light and shadow
so I did have to do some work in Lightroom for the highlights and shadow
and I don't have a calibrates screen so I am not sure about the brightness as well this shows that
I am just a Joe meatball hobbyist

No Problem...many of us here are just plain hobbyists .
The great thing is that we can all learn from each other here and become better at our hobby.

The brightness in this image is OK.
I pointed out the highlight recovery in this image because the brownish clouds are usually a telltale sign.
As I mentioned...,if it was possible...an image taken either few moments sooner...or later.... may have mitigated the highlight issue and perhaps given a better sunstar.

I find it interesting that the shape of the center of the sunstar snuggles into the shape of the mountain. An unusual effect. The light on the trees below is nice.
