While waiting for night to fall and hopeful display of the Northern lights, we  were treated to typical "4 seasons in 1 day" Norwegian weather; with a beam of light piercing the gloomy cloud cover to light up this small chapel.

Nikon D500 & Nikkor 70-200mm F4.
Imaged processed in PS with Nik SilverEfex.

Larger view and colour version

A marvelous sighting Sinuhe.  Like the composition and the splash of light.  The large view is lovely although I am not sure which version I prefer as both have their strengths....

Thanks Dave, I was in a quandary as well regarding monochrome or colour...as you said, both have their merits.

I definitely prefer the colour version, Sinuhe it brings out much more from the scene - I find the monochrome version much too dark and 'flat' for my tastes. Maybe I'm just a dinosaur

I really like the color version- so much more detail and contrast evident. Nice shot of that special moment of light!
