A leopardess with one of her two, 2 day old cubs brings them out into daylight for the first time in their life. The cubs will squint to open their eyes, but will not be able to actually see and clearly focus until around 10 days.
Moma lost her right eye in a territorial fight some years ago, but this has not stopped her from successfully raising cubs including her recent now 2 yr old son & daughter. A very special mother, and a superb experience to witness, as it is very rare to ever find a (relatively) clear view of a leopard densite, such a privilege indeed. Really looking forward to checking on their progress when I return early next month when they will be nearly 11 weeks old. Kogatende , Nth Serengeti- TZ.
