This image was made during a very interesting day in RMNP this past Sept. While we were getting sunshine from one direction...it was raining from the other. This bull lay down in the rain surrounded by his cows. I experimented with different shutter speeds to see their effect on the rain and I liked this one the best.

Shots at 1/1200 made the rain appear as pin pricks while the 1/200-1/500 range only gave a slight blur not making appear as if it was raining very hard.

A really like this shot Les :D

Nice light with vertical rain...you just don't get that opportunity often eh.

You did an excellent job taking advantage of the situation.

Congrats.!

Very nice motif image. 1/60s looks perfect IMHO. I like identifying the cows in the background, like wheres waldo... Thanks for sharing Les. Always good to see your work..

Great image of the motif. You did well. I really like this. We just had time for a very fast 1 1/2 day trip to RMNP, but were impressed and want to return.

Cool shot. Like the mix of sum and rain. Good choice of s/s, works well.

Great shot for the motif Les! My only minor nit is the head immediately between the ears of the Bull, but this is a fine image. 8) 8) 8) 8) :)

Les,

This one turned out very nicely. None of mine were this good. You had the perfect shutter speed to get the effect of the rain and the dark trees in the background really adds to the effect. The sunshine from behind highlights his rack nicely. I like the way the cows seem to appear from the background. The more you look, the more you see. I think it's a very unique and effective image.

Nice capture of the rainy conditions. Choice of shutter speed makes this work well. (Took me a while to what that was in the left middle! :) )

Les, this is a wonderful image.
BTW- 1/60 is also what I have found works well with falling snow.

Best,
