This is a real travesty. It's been going on for many, many years and needs to be getting much more attention.

Was it Joni Mitchel that sang "You don't know what you have 'til it's gone..."

Perhaps it's time for politicians and conservation organizations to become more aggressive about wildlife and habitat loss. Can US aid be tied to responsible conservation measures in some way in some of these places? It's not about one or two countries, its about the planet earth.
