A lion killed a photo safari guide in Zimbabwe in the same park that was the home of Cecil. Sounds like he was protecting his clients. I had not heard of this until now.

This is so sad.

Walking safaris are thought to be a 'walk in the park' but are not. I must confess I was always wary when out on foot in South Africa even with an experienced guide. Was never sure if one man, even with a rifle would be adequate protection against a big lion or buffalo. It just goes to show that wildlife is called that for a reason.

Life is indeed unpredictable.
