Another, "not a bird" shot from Bosque last November.

Canon D30, 400mm 2.8IS with 1.4x, ISO200, 1/180 sec at f 5.6. Supported from a beanbag in the car window.

I think I have this exact photo from last November :) I like the straight down the barrel look. I think I would correct out the slight blue cast due to being in shade.

Good shot! just a little warming in the colours and this would really pop!

Love that cool, confident look, and his overall position and composition. Your exposure is good but I agree with warming up the image to make it "pop."

Very good, Steve. I like the strong side-lighting here.

Here's a quick color correction. Did this overdo it? I am a little surprised that the suggested changes to simulate an 81A or 81B are done only on middle tones and highlights. Wouldn't darker areas like shadows have a bluish cast as well?

Nice shot Steve, love the in your face pose.

FWIW, the second post appears a little over done on my uncalibrated work monitor, will have another look @ home.

I really like the straight on stare but do agree that the second post looks a little overdone. I love the ears!

Love the look and love those ears. The second does look a bit overdone. You might try going back to the first and try Image>Adjustment>Hues and then drop just the blue by a bundle. (As I've been going back through some of my D30 shots - and I think the D30 was much more prone to color casts than more recent Canon's - I had to get back in the habit of adjusting the hues. My standard approach for the D30 is to go to Hues>Master and then bump the saturation up 50-80% just to see what happens; I don't keep that change. With the D30, it's not uncommon to see blue and cyan pop up where they just don't belong. Then you can go back and drop the blue and/or cyan channel by 50%. Hope this helps.)

She looks upset that you interuppted her breakfast. I like how you chose to crop this in frame to include just enough of the body but keep the head large int he frame. I definitely prefer the first image.
