This bull was trying to steal cows from a larger bull's harem. He was coming up the side of the hillside and I tried to capture him as his head rose above the edge. As usual, the skies were cloudy and this was late in the evening. Do you feel the green bush thru his rack is distracting? I'm undecided....

Nice one Bob.. The greenery looks natural to my eye. The thumbnail made me think he was tired out and laying down, but coming up the ridge it is... You captured the decisive moment with eye contact between you and him... Good work

Nice alert pose. I don't mind the bush at all, it's not so dramatically different from the rest of the background that it stands out strongly to me. Maybe it's just me but the orange color is a little unnatural looking. Being shot in cloudy conditions it should be bluish.

The grass at the top of the image shows golden on my profiled monitor Cindy.. it should not show as orange. The grass does take on a very strong presence in images taken in that meadow. A white balance setting of cloudy warms up the image substantially, eliminating the "bluish" cast in cloudy images....

Very nice. I didn't notice the green bush until you mentioned it.

Maybe just a touch overcompensated on the white balance. This is a very strong image. Beautiful rack! I don't think the green bush is a problem at all.

Nice pose with the slightly turned head. The green bush does not seem distracting to me. I'm with Cindy- it seems a bit off in color. But certainly an excellent image!

Excellent shot. No distraction from the bush but does appear a bit orange on my monitor.

Nice headgear for a young bull. I have really been enjoying these images of elk and this is a great shot.
