Yesterday, I took my 1d MKII out for a trial run. this is about 25% of the whole photo. Not bad, but some more tests are needed.

Seems a bit soft to me... It looks like the point of focus might be a bit in front of the bunny. A touch of fill flash might have helped a bit, too.

I presume this is a captive rabbit?

Paul has covered the points I would have raised Steve, it certainly looks like the critical POF has missed the Wabbit.....

Steve, yup, the image looks a bit soft from here too., otherwise a fine image.

Paul, I would not suggest using flash with a rabbit, unless you like the  look.

Best,

Good point! Maybe if the flash was waaaaaaay off the lens axis?

Or maybe just a half stop more exposure would have done the trick (at the expense of overexposing the straw).

Rabbit- wild at Sepulveda Basin
Dutch Hill tripod- old wood style in carbon.
This was focused manually. I will check out more.
IT was a new tripod for me and perhaps not as stable. I have some more things to work out. More to follow. I liked the translucency of the ears.

Cute bunny. Too bad the point of focus was off.

Looks like the focus may have been a bit in front of the bunny. Otherwise a good shot given the backlit circumstances.
