Baring Creek, below Sunrift Gorge. Taken on a dark rainy morning in August, with the goal of communicating "cool and wet".

Nikon D70, Nikkor 28-70 @ 56mm, f/11, 1/8 sec.

Thanks for your feedback.

This is like rubbing salt in the wound. I was supposed to be at Glacier this weekend but had to cancel due to work :(

Nice shot though :)

Nice shot. I might have liked it better at a slower shutter speed, but that's an entirely different look. Thanks for sharing.

Yes, it certainly says 'cool and wet'! I love the beautiful pastel green in the pool. 8) 8) :)

Nice.

I'm not sure what Greg means for the speed--it looks good to me. A slower speed won't make the fall much silkier, but will smooth out the water below. Maybe that's what he wants, but I'm partial to how you have the water looking now, where both texture and motion are apparent. A slower speed would emphasize motion more while negating texture.

don't listen to greg ;-) this looks just fine !

i like the fact that this is not a long exposure and you can actually "see/hear" the power of the water rushing down ! there's no rule that says waterfalls must be silky smooth :)

Very cool Mike!

I like the sense of power you've been able to give the water. Shutter speed seems the right choice to me.

The color of the water is great too! I can hear the roar!
