I have to sign in every time I open the site in Firefox 17.0.1.  Cookies, history & cache have all been deleted and signing back on has been tried.  I have no problems with IE however I prefer to use Firefox.

Did you also try going through preferences to the advanced tab and clearing everything there (second button) ?

It could be a cached session through your internet provider which sometimes happens as well.

Not sure I followed your suggestion or not. In Firefox I clicked on Tools>Options>Advanced then clicked on the network tab and cleared "cached web content" and "offline web content"  No luck!

Additionally, once I'm logged in clicking on any external link drops me and even clicking on the Naturescapes logo at the top of any page to go back to the home page drops me!

I am not experiencing any of these problems with IE.

I'm having the same problem with Chrome on a Mac. I've cleared my cache and my naturescapes.net cookies. I write software for the web and use it all day long. It's not me, it's this site :)

I'm using Chrome Version 23.0.1271.101 on Mac OS 10.7 (Lion).

I cleared all my naturescapes cookies again.

If Chrome doesn't work then I can't use naturescapes. I won't use another browser.

We're working on this login issue that some seem to be having right now but could use a little clarification... I am using chrome without any issues thus far (as well as 4 other browsers).

Eric - can you please let me know the exact nature of your problem? Are you not able to stay logged in? You had to log in to post the comments above so, if that is the case (you're getting logged back out) then when do you get logged back out?

It's not leaving me logged in, even if I keep the tab open. I don't  have this problem with any other web site, and I use a lot of web sites.

Thanks for the clarification and also for the patience while we get this worked out. It does seem that there is a problem on our end for a small percentage of users and we ask for your patience while we try and work it out as quickly as possible. We'll report back when we have an update.

I think I figured out the problem. If I go to http://naturescapes.net from any browser it doesn't keep me logged in, but if I go to http://www.naturescapes.net it seems to be working. www is so 1990, however, and I never type it in for any web site. I don't know the solution, but it's a good place to start looking.

Eric,

That is because PHPBB requires a single domain - and each (www and non www) are technically different domains. :) However, we have (hopefully) created a work-around so give it a shot and let us know if you're still having issues.

I see you are doing a redirect from naturescapes.net to http://www.naturescapes.net. Unfortunate, but seems to be working. Thanks.

The same is done for sites like Google, Yahoo, IBM, Microsoft, Facebook and many other sites, so it's a pretty standard way to handle it :)

Most browsers (maybe not Chrome) do it automatically.

The sign in issues should be fixed unless you try and reset your passord which is something we're working on in the next 24-48 hours. It has to do with how they are bridged with the articles section and a bug we discovered.

So, if you have a password issue please email us at editors@naturescapes.net and we can fix it almost immediately.
