Congratulations! This is the Image of the Week selection for the Travel and Culture Gallery, week ending 3rd August, 2012!Eerily calm bay and lake minutes before a small storm moved in at Split Rock Lighthouse.

Wow that is some crazy light. I like it but I think the lighthouse is a bit to far in the distance. Nice touch addint he trees in the foreground.

I do agree that the lighthouse is pretty small in the scene, but it had to be to include the bay and trees on the beach. On its own it is a pretty weak image of Split Rock, but it is one of four or five from Aug 26 last year with others that feature the lighthouse more prominently.
