please forgive me for violating the posting guidlines by posting this here, but i wanted to introduce, to my friends here on nsn, baby hugo - named after his 13x great grandpa hugo freer, who, along with 11 other huguenots, founded the town of new paltz, ny in 1678. (if you're interested, see his house)

i also realize that this should probably have been posted in the elements of babykind gallery, but i wanted to reach as many of you as possible.

this panoramic was taken on the way to the hospital to meet baby hugo for the first time. the atmospheric conditions were very odd. the landscape was veiled with a mysterious quality that i have raely seen before. the variation in color from left to right is odd indeed.

this photograph is pretty much straight out of the box. i know that it looks "flat", but that's exactly the way it looked - nothing was white and nothing was black, and the color was very muted and soft.

there is a larger version of just the panoramic that is worth seeing - the "oddness" comes across much better. (see it here)

thanks for allowing me to post this here.

My photographs aim at being true, not at being beautiful because, what is true is most often beautiful.
