Congratulations! This is the Image of the Week selection for the Flora and Macro Gallery, week ending 25th May, 2012!The mass emergence of calico pennants is underway at my favorite dragon fly area near me.

This is from this morning.

A newly emerged calico pennant with its exuvia on the sori from a sensitive fern from last year.

Canon 60D camera
Sigma 200mm/F2.8 lens with extension tubes (13mm and 31mm stacked).
shot at iso 200, F11, 1/6" on tripod

Well all I can say is – if you aren’t happy with this one, give up :mrgreen:

It is indeed a real delight, a pretty much first classed image with plenty of eye appeal :!:

Wish we were having a mass emergence of anything – I spent about five hours today looking and spotted absolutely nothing
