Congratulations! This is the Image of the Week selection for the Flora and Macro Gallery, week ending 18th May, 2012!A shot of a red admiral butterfly (Vanessa atalanta), taken in the countryside near home- Slightly cropped for composition, selective sharpening.

Excellent composition and color contrast. I never see this butterfly is a clean setting - they are almost always on the ground.
