Congratulations! This is the Image of the Week selection for the Wildlife Gallery, week ending 25th December, 2009!Two crowned lemurs run through the limestone pinnacles ('tsingy') of Ankarana, Madagascar. The stone, eroded over millions of years into razor-sharp points, gives a soft ringing tone every time one of these small lemur's feet hit the surface. Every few days this group would make the run from the protected forest edge, through the tsingy, and down into caves to drink.

This is such a neat shot! The very wide perspective with the animals right in the center gives a great look at this most unusual habitat and how they navigate through it. The fill flash helped you a lot here to brighten up the animals. Well done.

Terrific shot, great habitat, and terrific wide-angle view of the lemurs. We were in Ankarana for only a day and didn't make it back to the tsingy. I am now full of envy!! Conrats!!!
