This another image that was taken on a trip to the NJ Pine Barrens. My goal here was to capture the plant's beauty in its tentacles and why it is called a sundew. Do you think I succeeded?

Taken with EOS 3, 70-200MMf/2.8, TC2x, close up lens 500D (approx. magnification was 1.16, I think).

Please let me know what you think.

Christoph

Good capture of the business end of these marvellous plants. Perhaps a single "sun" would be more effective ?

These are marvelous plants to find and to photograph!
This looks fine to me Christoph, and you have very good details at the top of the plant, nice lighting and colors.
I do wish that the background was a tad more OOF, but still this is wonderful as is!

Thanks for posting,
Mike

I like these plants. Nice leaf detail. If you could make the BG more OOF I think it would be good. Alternatively, rotating the camera CCW may have excluded some of the distracting bits (but the composition may not have been as good).
Good shot. What is the species?

I have another shot with less DOF, but I don't like it as much because most of the tentacles are OOF. DOF appears to be very narrow even here where it is about 5mm at about f/22.

The species is D. rotundifolia.
