Congratulations! This is the Image of the Week selection for the Wildlife Gallery, week ending 6th April, 2012!It's a little amphian that lives in wet caves or near the water. In this case we've used 2 diffused flash for the subject and natural light in the background

Wonderful depth and perspective in this excellent composition! I would get rid of the extra catchlight in the eye but apart from that, wouldn't change a thing. Fantastic image!

Hi

Love the composition here and that little chap as well – regarding suggestions I think I would ideally have like one of those lights to have been angled / placed to give some light to the rocky area behind the subject’s head. But either way an enjoyable view

All the best
Matthew

Wonderful shot of a rarely seen salamander-often hard to show the environment as well as you did. Great depth of field. My only suggestion would be to lower your view to the eye level of the animal so your not looking down but eye to eye. The catchlight is fine.
