Congratulations! This is the Image of the Week selection for the Wildlife Gallery, week ending 30th March, 2012!A few years ago I visited Lake Clark National Park for bears. This time the bear came out of the grass very close to myself and one other photographer. This image is full frame at 800mm.

Intense shot! I like the way the wet fur forms patterns and the reflection of the sky in his eye. Nice shot!

Sweet detail - love the eye! An alternative crop would be to take a sliver off the right side and lose the oof eye thus putting the sharply detailed eye more towards the top right corner, but I do like your choice of crop including both eyes!

I haven't cropped this image. I left it as is. I tried taking the other eye out but didn't like it as much.

I like your image as is! I tried to visualize it otherwise and it just doesn't work! Great job, Victoria!

Hi

Personally I think this is excellent – I like the composition!!!

If you was considering alternatives – I would crop a little from the left, losing that little bit of sky area in the lower left corner.

But I say again I really like this

Thanks for sharing
Matthew

Very cool composition. The other eyes at the edge of the frame really adds.
