Remarkable study in out of focus color contrast - and a great-looking white as well.

This would be nice even without the cabbage white, but having it just makes this outstanding. Really very nice Leonid.

Great capture - really like the OOF yellow background behind the cabbage white. Just a suggestion: when I first opened this image my eye was first drawn to the purple at the bottom. I like the purple, but perhaps a little less would help the overall image?

Hi Leonid

I can see that you have definitely crafted the look you were after very nicely indeed – the image has a well defined appearance and obviously shows a good use of technique to obtain the result / look you wanted to capture. So top marks for execution.

But having said the above I would not be being honest if I said the image as a whole appeal to me. Rather like Kent, I find the lower out of focus colour to overwhelming, demanding too much eye attention and hence the image as a whole lacks a balanced harmony upon the viewers eye imo.

I feel this shot would work better with a greener OOF frontal area, or as a simple straight image.

But that’s just my opinion and from the posting you have received so far, it obvious this image does appeal to many

And here’s my best wishes for 2012
Matthew

Many thanks to all for the kind comments!!!
Thanks to you Kent and Matthew for C&C!
Yes, I know that there are different opinions about this picture. Although there is a conflict of color, but it is a purely natural origin. Of course, I agree that if I did the lower front part of the image in green, the picture becomes less active and more harmonious. However, in this image there are only natural colors of the meadows and there is no additional processing. I did a lot calmer in color photos, sometimes I want to make the work in a high tone :) However, this is just my subjective view.

Best regards,
Leonid
