Congratulations! This is the Image of the Week selection for the Wildlife Gallery, week ending 9th December, 2011!
Image
Been away for most the past month photographing deer in a number of locations. I found a nice Wyoming buck here along the edge of an aspen grove.

Splendid habitat image, Dale!
This is a particularly good looking buck, with a nice big frame and good mass throughout.

It looks like the snow helped to make your recent mulie pursuits a real success. I try to envision this image without the snow . . . and it isn't nearly as pretty a sight as what you have captured here!
Did you have snow everywhere, or just up higher? Any idea what elevation this buck was at?

Dale,

Great shot! I really like the environment. Not a huge deer, but very shootable. This will look great in a calendar! Happy holidays!

Awesome looking deer and wonderful setting. I love the placement in the frame. Looks like it could use some cc rotation as all the trees are leaning to the right.

Nice balance of subject and habitat, and the snow adds so much to the appeal of the image overall. It looks like he's posing for you!

Another fan of environmental shots, especially with snow. Great shot, although I'd personally prefer the buck to not stare directly at the photographer for a shot like this.
